• Played games at accommodation
  • Decided to go out for to the beach the late morning. Had read online there is a beach called "Prawn rock Chanel". However we could not find on google, but went to the general location at the Ocean Beach inlet (parked just before the Ocean Beach lookout).
  • Beach was great! We took the paddle board from the side of the road (narrow section where there were some people swimming from) and paddled over to an island beach section which is very sheltered with the inlet. Was perfect for the kids. There is a "deeper" section that they could both readily stand in and then a huge area of very shallow water. Kids loved running around, jumping into the deeper section and being dragged on the boards. The water was quite warm being so sheltered. Could not have found a better beach.
  • Used the paddle board a bit with the kids, Makayla liked jumping off it and they both enjoyed being pulled along the beach. Daddy took out to the main beach and tried, with limited success, to catch some waves (fell off when tried standing but was ok when knelt down).
  • To access the beach, we took the paddle board. Was only when we had spent a few hours at the beach and returned to the car that we noticed there is a bridge walk-way to the island (and we had initially parked in its car-park but thought we were in the wrong spot…!) however taking the paddle board over was a lot of fun and worked really well.
  • Drove back to accommodation, stopped past a roadside avocado stand and got some avocados and lemons (the avocados were great).
  • Back at accommodation made lunch and played games. Had a visit from the owner who wishes us a Happy New Year and dropped of a bottle of Champaign for us!
