Spent the day at the accommodation today. Is amazing setting and very tranquil with fields, large trees and gardens.
The kids are loving the house, playing up-stairs making it into a shop. The house has a lot of character being 100+. No room is level with any other room and there are steps everywhere. Despite the age, and odd design, it is has a huge bathroom and kitchen (there are 2 levels within the kitchen alone).
Explored the Chestnut trees. The older (40 years old) are stunning. Large trees offering almost complete cover. Played hide and seek through the trees.
Had picnic lunch outside and spent rest of the afternoon playing with the kite, riding, playing cards, "shops" soccer etc…
Also went to feed the pigs (who are fed chestnuts) and are a delicacy meat.
Purchased some chestnut fed bacon and roast from the owners, also purchased chestnut beer (which apparently recently won the international gold medal beer).
